Susan Iliefski-Janols

Susan Iliefski-Janols is a sustainability expert with extensive experience in life cycle thinking, the combination of climate action and circular economy, and sustainable product development. She has been involved with the Swedish Life Cycle Center since its inception and has witnessed the growing integration of life cycle perspectives across industry, policy, and society.

As current  Chair of the Swedish Life Cycle Center and former Sustainability Products & Services VP at Essity, she has played a leading role in advancing sustainability strategies for innovations, products, and services. Her work has focused on applying life cycle assessment and sustainability methodologies to support business development, resource efficiency, and informed decision-making throughout value chains.

Susan is particularly passionate about addressing today’s sustainability challenges through collaboration between industry, academia, and public stakeholders. She strongly believes in the life cycle perspective as a key enabler for sustainable consumption and production, contributing to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 12 (SDG 12).

Drawing on her experience from both the Swedish Life Cycle Center and Essity, she combines strategic vision with practical implementation, helping organizations translate sustainability ambitions into measurable actions and long-term value creation in her own consultancy company Susteed .
